Created to Love: Living Out What You Were Made For
At the very center of our faith is this powerful truth: We were created to love.
Love isn’t just something we’re supposed to do.
It’s part of who we are. It’s how God designed us.
From the very beginning, God’s plan has always been rooted in love—
His love for us, our love for Him, and our love for others.
Let’s dive into what the Bible says about this and how we can actually live it out, every day.
God Is Love—and We’re Made in His Image
It all starts with God.
1 John 4:8 says:
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
That verse isn’t just saying God feels love or gives love.
It says He is love.
And since we’re made in His image (Genesis 1:27), love is built into who we’re meant to be.
So when we love others, we’re living out our purpose.
And when we hold back love? We’re stepping away from who God created us to be.
We’re Created to Love God First
Jesus made it simple.
He said the greatest command is this:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” —Matthew 22:37
Loving God isn’t about checking boxes or doing everything perfectly.
It’s about relationship.
It means:
💛 Spending time with Him
💛 Trusting Him even when it’s hard
💛 Aligning your heart with His
💛 Obeying Him—not out of duty, but out of love
Loving God is the starting point for everything else in life.
When we love Him first, everything else starts to fall into place.
We’re Created to Love Others
Right after that first command, Jesus gave us the second:
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” —Matthew 22:39
That means love isn’t just vertical—it’s horizontal.
If we say we love God, we’ll show it in how we treat others.
1 John 4:20 pulls no punches:
“If you say you love God but hate your brother or sister, you’re lying.”
And 1 John 3:18 adds:
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
Loving others looks like:
✔ Being kind—even when someone doesn’t “deserve” it
✔ Forgiving—even when it’s hard
✔ Serving—with no strings attached
✔ Caring—with a soft heart
✔ Speaking truth—but doing it with love
This kind of love isn’t always easy—but it’s exactly what Jesus modeled for us.
We’re Called to Love Like Jesus
Jesus set the gold standard for love.
In John 15:13, He said:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
That’s what He did for us. He laid it all down.
His love is:
❤️ Unconditional
❤️ Sacrificial
❤️ Constant
That’s the kind of love we’re called to show.
Not shallow. Not selfish.
But real, deep, Christ-like love—the kind that changes lives.
Love Is Our Greatest Purpose
At the end of the day, nothing matters more than love.
1 Corinthians 13 says it plain and clear:
“If I speak in tongues… if I have all the faith in the world… but I don’t have love? I’m nothing.”
Love is the real measure of a life well-lived.
Not success. Not knowledge. Not even faith that moves mountains—without love, it all falls flat.
How to Live It Out Every Day
If we’re created to love, then love should be woven into everything we do.
Here’s how to live it out:
💛 Spend time with God—let Him fill your heart with love
💛 Be kind—even when it’s inconvenient
💛 Forgive freely—like Jesus forgave you
💛 Look for ways to serve—love takes action
💛 Speak life—words can heal or hurt
💛 Stay humble—love doesn’t puff up
💛 Keep your heart open—let His love flow through you
Final Thoughts: You Were Made for This
You were made to love.
It’s not just a rule—it’s your calling.
It’s not just a feeling—it’s who you are in Christ.
So go love boldly.
Love freely.
Love like Jesus.
Because when you love, you reflect the heart of the One who made you. ❤️
At Infinitely Faithful, we believe love is more than a message—it’s a mission.
Through our designs and our words, we’re here to remind you: you were made to love.
If this encouraged you, send it to someone who needs the reminder today!
